The match report said it all and it is not good reading!!. I cannot belief the apathy which exists in Kardamena towards their young ones. Besides being "lost in space", they must have felt unwanted and unloved. The few friendly faces must have seemed far away, or lost among the rest of the spectators. Is it any wonder that they that they must have felt rejected and dejected?, with so few supporters to give them any inspiration? It is just as well that the young lads keep their faith in the club, as they are the club's future. Without them it would not take long for the club to go into a spiraling decline. The size and state of Doxa's football ground cannot prepare any team properly. Even the adopted starting formation loses it's appeal on a long and wide pitch. It's a formula for conceding goals. The midfielders have to run themselves silly to try to get back to assist the defence, and the possibility of a two on one defence is not there. As the match report states, the lads had a very good regular season, so they shouldn't feel too bad about losing a semi-final under such circumstances. I am sure that they will keep up the fight to get the longed for green pitch.

The U16's lads have been granted a small advantage by virtue of the fact that Kalyniakos are unable to travel this weekend. This means that the winner of the Kalymniakos and Dikaiou match will have to play in the final the following day. Even for fit young men this is not easy. Somewhere in the game some of them will run out of steam to their opponents advantage. The lads must ensure that they win their match against Antagoras this week. They will then have a week to recover and plan their tactics against Dikaiou who will likely win their match. They will not be an easy team to beat as they are prolific goal scorers and play attractive football, but it can be done by the lads from Kardamena. I would suggest that they don't sacrifice their defence for the sake of an early goal. The coach will see when the time is right to pressure them with repeated attacks to look for the goals. Put your hearts and souls into both matches lads and you can add more glory to Kardamena. GOOD LUCK

"DOXA-GLORY WILL BE THE FUTURE TO COME!"
The young lads born after 1995 have made History!!! They deserve every accolade for their performance on the pitch and their behaviour off it."They behaved like gentlemen" This is testament to the methods used by coach Kostas in instilling discipline in the young lads. It's not all about ball and technical skills as important as they are, but having a total approach to the game.Behaviour and discipline on and off the pitch is important to make well rounded players. He is doing a grand job with so many yougsters under his wing!! The lad fully deserve to go to Cyprus next Christmas. There must be quite a few very proud parents in Kardamena at this present time. It is now up to the U16's to put the icing on the cake!!. Admin reply: this message will be translated to the lads. that will make them even more proud

This coming weekend brings the defining time for the U16's. There are no second chances because it is now a knockout competion. Team form and the table suggest that Dikaiou will beat Kalymniakos. Doxa must beat Antagoras, and they are capable of doing so with the will, the heart and the right mind. Had Doxa beaten Antagoras in the league they would be the league leaders, so they will not necessarily be playing the best side in the final. Nerves will play a large part for all the young players so the correct guidance is necessary for Doxa. The lads must go out to play their normal game and to enjoy their football. They are more than capable of taking the trophy. Good luck lads.
Admin reply: Kalymniakos could not travel this weekend so the semi-final DOXA-ANTAGORAS will be on Sunday 11th and the final will be the following Sunday 18th may. the other semi final KALYMNIAKOS-DIKAIOS will be played saturday 17th

After the terrible game against Antagoras which went entirely against form, the U16's finally got their act together against Kalymniakos and had the win which showed their superiority in the league. Pietris once again showing his striking ability with two goals and a further one from Pis. After the sobering experience against Antagoras I now hope that they take nothing for granted, and go into the remaining matches completely focused. Well done lads.

The under 16's last meeting with Antigoras resulted in in them scoring six goals. I would expect that they would be looking for a scoring spree on Tuesday, yet just winning the match is he most important thing to remember. I am sure that they will make me a happy man. I look forward to reading another good match report. Admin reply: the lads will do their best. they have one more game against kalymniakos probably next sunday before the semi-final and there can be no more delays in the schedule because in two weeks time they begin their annual school exams that last for about a month

What a great win for the under 16's side. The match report said it all; they "played like professionals". Fast players going forward with a sound defence makes for winning matches. The fact that they didn't concede a goal with a man down, against a team which has averaged three goals a match is a fantastic achievment, bettered by being able to score a second goal with only ten men. Well done to all of the team!! I would be interested to know what their starting formation was. Admin reply: 3-5-2 is the formation that Kiriakoulis uses at the first team so both U-16 and U-13 are based on the same formation to get used to it. sweeper was stamatis tsiknis who is the younger brother of giannis tsiknis that plays for the first team. when he was sent off baloli came as a sweeper and christos tsiko (younger brother of tony tsiko)that was in front-line came back as a defensive midfielder leaving pietris the only attacker. when he got tired begias who is a defender yet a very fast one, took pietris place and was actually defending in the front-line running and pressing in the half field. he had 3 good chances to score and he would possibly have done so if he had more experience as an attacker! they have played better attack but this time they did their best defending. Dikaios would not have scored even if there was a third half!

I think that for Doxa to have an anthem would be a brilliant idea. To make it inclusive, perhaps it should be "We have a dream" and maybe to include "Doxa is in our hearts". This would help to cement loyalty amongst the supporters. Could I suggest a two short verses rather than a long anthem, which would be used as two short chants. I am sure that there is the talent to do this, and for it to be set to a stirring tune. There is plenty of time to get it right before the start of next season. My mind also turns to the question of the promised "green pitch". Has any more information come forward about this, as there was a promise to start the project this year?Admin reply: the anthem is something we have been thinking for a while now and it is in our plans for the near future. as for the "green pitch" don't forget that it was promised by a "greek politician"!
